FIGHT: Flagship phones 2017 (part 1)

In the fifth of our comparison articles, I've decided to compare the various flagship phones from all the major manufacturers. In this, part 1 of that fight, we have Google, Apple, LG & Samsung. The winner is quite interesting, (as is the outright looser), so read on to find out what the numbers tell us...

Comparing phones is always a somewhat emotive opinion on the part of the person doing the comparison, so I have tried to keep this one based upon facts rather than feelings. Some may argue with some of the decisions and some may need explanation. The winning phone in each category is shown in dark green and gains 2 points. Where no obvious winner exists, "highly commended" scores are in light green and gain 1 point)

...So there we have it; a newly altered scoring card produces a different result. Whereas the LG V30 had walked away with the "best phone" prize on our previous scoring matrix, now we've included screen / body ratio and a couple of other changes, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has jumped up to claim joint first place.

See part 2 of this comparison for more of the 2017 flagship phones, and maybe a full on, definite winner...

Also the Mi Mix2, HTC U11+, Sony XZ Premium and Huawei Mate 10 Pro to consider.

From a personal standpoint there's still nothing out there to replace my Galaxy Note 4.

We've done the Mate 10 Pro, but yes, another chart with those other handsets will be forthcoming

    • Price is the most important factor, you would considering while buying a smartphone. Not everyone could afford an iPhone. So, Xiaomi gives foremost importance to the pricing of its devices. Even its latest flagship smartphone Xiaomi Mi5 with premium features just costs under $400 (INR 25,000).

I saw user review on XDA forum, the review will help you to decide.
    • Hello  everyone, I joined the forum, because i need your expert opinion.

      I am looking for Cat S41 alternate. I liked Cat S41, but i can't pay $350+.
after searched, i found Poptel P9000 Max.
i like it because of 9000mAh battery with quick charger, 13mp back camera, 4 LED light for Torch, and IP68 Rating.

      I need your suggestion.

      thanks in advance

    • I’m torn between getting the latest Ipad or buying a notebook for myself. I’m a freelance web content writer and most of the time I’m always travelling. I guess you could consider me as a digital nomad. I already have a Macbook but sometimes it feels so inconvenient to bring it around. I always have to use bigger backpack so I could carry it with me when travelling.  I’m going away to a Ukraine ski trip this coming winter. I wanted to bring something smaller where I could write whenever. Any suggestions or comments from the people on the internet?
