Yamaha Release New High End AV Receivers

Following on from last month's launch of new affordable receivers, Yamaha is following it up with the launch of their new high end Aventage range, with prices starting at just £550.

Here's a press release from Yamaha: :)

This year the line-up has expanded somewhat and not in the direction most people would expect. We have a brand new model at a brand new price point, the RX-A550. This model sits below the RX-A850 in the AVENTAGE line-up, but doesn’t replace anything else within our AVR range. The RX-A550 includes the latest HDCP, 4k video support, Bluetooth and WiFi on board and features a full Aluminium housing. It also features 5 channel discrete amplification and a specific UK tuning to this model. We’ve spent months focusing on getting this product to sound amazing so for those who want functionality and sound quality in a neat package… look no further!

The rest of the range will be updated to the RX-A850, RX-A1050, RX-A2050 and RX-A3050. Replacing their respective models from last year. All models from RXA850 and above will include HDCP 2.2, Bluetooth and WiFi on board, support for the full 4k colour space of 4:4:4, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, RS-232 for custom install integration and a new Subwoofer EQ to get the most out of your bass space.

We’ll be using ESS SABRE DACs in the RX-A1050 and above, with the ES9006 being used on the RXA1050, two ES9006 DACs on the RX-A2050 and an ES9016 and ES9006 DAC on the RX-A3050. Combined with these is our new Polymer Multi-layer capacitors, specially developed with Rohm technologies in association with Yamaha. These new capacitors are tiny in size but pack a huge punch when it comes to unrivalled sound quality. You’ll find a much smoother and refined sound from Yamaha’s AV Receivers going forward which is largely thanks to our research and development of these new tiny components. We’ve included a new Jitter clock in AVENTAGE for 2015, specifically focusing on network, Bluetooth and USB playback. As times move on there is a distinct trend towards using network based music sources so we want to focus on making this kind of source as good as it can be. Not only this but there’s a new Volume IC built into the AV receiver range which not allows a smoother control over volume from us as the listener, but dynamic range in music and movies is better controlled as well. Taking a movie soundtrack as an example, often it may go from a big explosion to a quiet scene just afterwards and sometimes this can sound disjointed. Thanks to our new Volume IC unit, it’s not quite as cutting and is a more controlled experience.

We will also support hi-res playback on all the AVENTAGE models, including up to 5.6MHz DSD, 192/24 FLAC/WAV/ALAC/AIFF and MP3 and WMA files. These can be played back over the network or USB as well as using an external player if you so wish. Other improvements include a better refinement of our YPAO auto speaker calibration, a new GUI HD uplift, continuous upgrades to our AV Controller app and some extra adjustments made for zone playback including delay adjustment and a handy main zone sync function. The range of AVENTAGE AV Receivers from Yamaha this year will support the newest object based audio formats, referring specifically to Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. Dolby Atmos will be supported on the RX-A850 and above, while DTS:X will be available on the RX-A1050 and above.

These should be available from approximately August/September. The RX-A550 will be £550, RX-A850 £900, RX-A1050 £1000, RX-A2050 £1500, RX-A3050 £2000.

    • Price is the most important factor, you would considering while buying a smartphone. Not everyone could afford an iPhone. So, Xiaomi gives foremost importance to the pricing of its devices. Even its latest flagship smartphone Xiaomi Mi5 with premium features just costs under $400 (INR 25,000).
    • this is new to the market, and there are not much content on the internet.

    • Hello  everyone, I joined the forum, because i need your expert opinion.

      I am looking for Cat S41 alternate. I liked Cat S41, but i can't pay $350+.
after searched, i found Poptel P9000 Max.
i like it because of 9000mAh battery with quick charger, 13mp back camera, 4 LED light for Torch, and IP68 Rating.

      I need your suggestion.

      thanks in advance

    • I’m torn between getting the latest Ipad or buying a notebook for myself. I’m a freelance web content writer and most of the time I’m always travelling. I guess you could consider me as a digital nomad. I already have a Macbook but sometimes it feels so inconvenient to bring it around. I always have to use bigger backpack so I could carry it with me when travelling.  I’m going away to a Ukraine ski trip this coming winter. I wanted to bring something smaller where I could write whenever. Any suggestions or comments from the people on the internet?
