The What's Going on at Apple Thread

Well it's up to their accountants but if people consider their prices too high (which seems to be happening) then they'll just have to review them or lose sales. Personally I felt Apple gear was at the high end anyway and this 22% on top just makes it far worse.

Are their products really THAT desirable that people will just keep on paying through the nose?

Nope. I will think very carefully before upgrading to a new MBP now from my Air. Whilst I can't see myself shifting to Windows any time soon, I will drag out my refresh cycle for some time unless work is paying. Similarly on phones.

You know the best bit about that book? Download the zipped images, it still contains the _MACOSX file and the legal notice is an editable .rtf file.

Weak. Really, really weak.

Apple care really riles me. For the price (and supposed good quality) of their products a 3 year warranty should be included as standard. The Plus also covers battery depletion which is bollocks as a battery should last more than 3 years anyway.

Even after paying for Apple care, all you get is:

Up to 3 years from date of purchase for Mac or Apple display,
Up to 2 years from date of purchase for Apple TV, iPad, iPhone or iPod

Another Apple rip-off on top of their already stupidly expensive gear.

Apple admits there is a issue with iphone 6 touchscreens (due to design change and cutting costs) ..... but it's still $149 to fix it anyway. Sigh.

After seeing the news this morning I'd like to get my body cryogenically frozen then come back when Apple have gone. It's only 28 grand :)

The wording even says after being dropped multiple times on a hard surface.

Its well written, as to me, it seems they are implying goodwill, as it's a result of being dropped.  It's been well spun.

Apple where meant to call me back by 16:00 today about my AppleCare, but no phone call!!

And the "further stress" is bending which the iPhone 6 was prone to as we know. The chassis design was strengthened in the iphone 7 so the fact this fault is due to bending in part is a design flaw.

Its well documented why this occurs and its plainly Apple's fault and they shouldn't be charging for the repair.

Yet again the profits pile in while customers get fleeced.

The link says iPhone 6 Plus.

when did you buy an iPhone 6?

The strengthening happened with the 6s...

having said that, it takes some doing to bend a 6, I've got a 6 that is used as a pool phone and is now about 15 months old, it's still as straight as the day it was bought (a bit battered but still quite straight).

I never bought an iphone since the 4, But then I wouldn't want to anyway.

There are those who always defend Apple (you) and those who don't (me). No point arguing about it but maybe one day you'll see the light.

I'm not defending anything, just pointing out the irrational bias and skewed perspective in some of your posts...

I have to ask: @Satsuma, which book did you order - the small one or the large one? Or have you ordered both?

:)

LOLZ.

Obviously neither.

Typed on my MacBook Air connected to my iPhone 7Plus connected to my Apple Watch and my iPad Air 2  :D

And yes I will buy AirPods as soon as available.  ;)

Apple will get them on sale as soon as they can find them all. They all got lost part way through the production line.
